Think I am being funny? Do ya?
I am using airtel mobile post paid connection from past 6 years from now and faced very less issues. Its ok but the services are excellent at par. Two years before i have opted for Internet/broad band connection for home. It has come with free telephone no charges extra for this. As many calls i make i have to pay depending on usage. Very happy with the internet connection and local calling. Recently they told me if i call anywhere india its costing just Rs.1/-
Initially i have taken 128kpbs paying around 700/- per month and upgraded 2 months ago to 256kbps Rs.750/- with 50/- local talk time free. I am very happy with the offer they offered me.
Recently i forgot to pay the bill amount on due date. My due date of every month is 17th. I called to toll free number around 10pm on 17th and informed that i have to pay the amount and its night what should i do. He suggested me to go to spendid towers, begumpet its opened upto 2am and i asked whether i can pay through credit card. He said yes.
If i have not paid the amount before the due date i have to pay fine of Rs.100/- more. So i thought to go and pay the bill in time. As i went to splendid towers the executive seating there said they will not accept the credit card after 10am because daily account settlement on the machine use to do around 9.30pm. If i swipe the card i have to do after 12pm.. That is early morning of 00.00 hours and he informed though next day is sunday no need to worry and suggested to pay the bill before monday 11am and no late payment charges will not applicable. I said ok .
Next day sunday around 9pm on the way and thought to drop to airtel office and pay the amount. When i went to the counter to pay they said they will not accept the card after 8pm in the evening. Only thing to make on cash.
I got different answers everytime. I really loosed my temper. I consult 3 people and given me 3 different answers within the organisation. Airtel is very good in customer support. If they start hiring such kind of idiots how they can meet the services. They have not given proper training to the executives or inefficient front office staff.
Finally i have learned that if anyone should make payment by card please swipe the card before 8pm every day. Begumpet office is opened upto 2am to accept the bill payments.
I felt so bad that airtel have not noticed such kind of inefficient staff. Felt very petty on Airtel.
